DESERT STORM

SCARFACE Phase Crew with the "Kill Board" Looks like quite a ballgame.

This is a photo of Al Jubail airfield 1990-91. This is taken from the existing commercial tower looking down upon some of tent city with its strong back tents. The ever present Mosque with its Minaret can be seen at the top in the "developed" portion of the field. The field was just the runway and terminal plopped down amongst the sand dunes. The tent city housed MAG-16 and MAG-26 (Col. Mike Williams) with a temporary population of 5000 and 400 aircraft. This was a busy facility. Also a resident of the airfield was the 1st MAW Headquarters. Photo courtesy Steve Hornberger
