This is a photo of Al Jubail airfield 1990-91. This is
taken from the existing commercial tower looking
down upon some of tent city with its strong back
tents. The ever present Mosque with its Minaret can be seen at the
top in the "developed" portion of the field. The field was
just the runway and terminal plopped down amongst
the sand dunes. The tent city housed MAG-16 and
MAG-26 (Col. Mike Williams) with a temporary population of 5000
and 400 aircraft. This was a busy facility. Also a resident of the
airfield was the 1st MAW Headquarters. Photo
